Homely days

"Cats are connoisseurs of comfort."
James Herriot

It's a lovely quilting day today, gentle rain, no commitments ...and cats who think that when I  have the sewing machine humming with fabric pieces everywhere I am doing it for their muddy pawed pleasure!

All other projects are put aside as I work on a special birthday quilt for a special birthday for a special person and as anything worth doing will be a challenge I know that this must be especially worth doing!

It's to be a surprise and I can't show it in progress but here is a little sneaky peek at the fabrics.

So pretty!

A finish for the month was a needlecase for a friend.

(using fabulous felt from fantastic Fiona!)

And the garden?

I had a happy wander around this morning, taking photos and checking progress. After our windy week there is an hour of raking to do, but not today.

Today is for indoors.

  1. Gorgeous needle case and the fabrics for your friends quilt look great, look forward to seeing it finished. :)

  2. love the hardanger in your needlecase.. clever clogs you and well done with all that block sewing.... looking forward to seeing it....

  3. arghh this is the 4th time I have tried to leave a comment. Not sure where they are all disappearing too. Anyway for the 4th time... the needlecase is lovely. The quilt is beautiful and the photos of your garden and lovely too
