OPAM and A Lovely Year of Finishes

30 days has September,
April, June and November.
All the rest have 31
except for February alone
which has 28 days clear
and 29 each leap year.

Time was absolutely endless at the beginning of February, I settled down, made a big list of projects to achieve, looked forward to approaching holidays and generally relaxed.
Too soon...

Work suddenly couldn't run without me (no, I'm not important but the bosses will say anything to talk you into doing a few more shifts) so, polishing my halo, in I went and 'while you are here you might as well do some compulsory training...' Hmmm.

Hubby decided to generously give me use of half his study, so in I moved with boxes and files, computer and my beloved treadle to find that with the half use came the cleaning and some very dodgy windows needing painting...

(added to aforementioned list) It's worth it, sitting in a breeze and looking out into the garden as I type is lovely.)

I enjoyed a couple of days of being sickly with an unknown bug, laying around sleeping, reading Facebook, pinning on Pinterest and unravelling the mysteries of Instagram.

Relaxing in my convalescence, all the time in the world still ahead of me, my daughter asked the date. 'It's around the 20th' I said with an air of time having no importance. She doubted me and checked. It was the 27th!!!

Adrenaline shot through my veins! Magically recovered I finished the Easter Bluebird instructions for Craftsy

and attacked my still unstarted cushion for 'A Lovely Year of Finishes' and as it is my only finished project in this lotus eating month have ONE finished project for OPAM,

Ah the endorphins! Just like being back at school and getting a term's work done in a night. Maybe not to be recommended at my age though...

Love and Valentines

'Sprinkle love on your heart and watch it bloom'

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

I bet everyone in Cheryll's Valentine swap is feeling warm and fuzzy and loved just as I am!
Thank you Cheryll it's been wonderful.

My parcel arrived a week ago and with great restraint I drooled over the unopened packages until today!

Finally the moment to open came and I am so incredibly thrilled and touched to find something so perfect that I know that 'Simone' must have really been studying my blog.

Isn't this absolutely gorgeous!
I just love it!

Teddy was very impressed too and was quite miffed when told it was NOT his new blanket. See that snippet of indignant tail.

We've been reshuffling the house a little so I now have a corner in hubby's study and this will be the perfect wall decoration above my laptop. I love the saying, the roses, the colours..and the choccies... diet to be resumed Monday hehehe.

Thank you so very much Simone.

I've also noticed my recipient asking for the identity of her giver. This one I seem to think was a secret so now that gifts have been exchanged, please if someone can let me know whether the secret remains, and I can fess up....or not. (and go hunt for Simone too)

Have a happy Valentine's Day and spread love wherever you go.

A lovely year of finishes - February

'A lady's imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony in a moment.'
Jane Austen

It's that time to delve into the unfinished project box again and pull out the ingredients for another completion. This month, being the month of Love, I'm turning this sweet embroidery worked a couple of years ago (pattern by Ella and Skysie)  from a previously framed picture to a small cushion.

I think it will be achievable.
